MYX Mo! 2015 features over 70 OPM artists in one concert

Myx to launch first ever vlogger search


MYX GATHERS OVER 70 OPM ARTISTS FOR 

BIGGEST MYX MO! CONCERT 

Over 70 of the biggest and brightest OPM stars gathered for a night in celebration of MYX’s 15 years in showcasing the best of Pinoy music at MYX Mo, the biggest and longest running OPM festival in the country.



As early as 4PM, the crowd partied nonstop as they enjoyed the best OPM hits from MYX’s star-studded impressive roster of local artists across all genres to date –from jamming along with rock hits of Pupil to singing their hearts out to Kyla’s soulful songs.







The MYX Mo! 2015 stage also became a platform for young rising OPM artists to wow the crowd with their incredible talent. Performances from “The Voice Kids” alumni Lyca Gairanod, Elha Nympha, and Darren Espanto had the MYX Mo! crowd shrieking and singing along to their renditions of hit songs.

OPM artists who partied at MYX Mo! also took to Twitter to share their great experience at the biggest gathering of OPM artists this year.










RnB prince Jay-R remarked, “I’m still hung over from MYX Mo 2015. Always a great experience performing on the MYX stage.”

DJ Tom Taus also said he was honored to be part of the biggest lineup of OPM artists for MYX Mo. He tweeted, “what a great gathering of artists and music lovers. It was an honor to close out MYX Mo 2015.”



Fans on social media also said that MYX! Mo was a nostalgic music concert as it featured the best OPM hits throughout the years, while a first time MYX! Mo concertgoer described it as “the best OPM concert.”



MYX VJs Nikki, Chino, Robi, Ai, Erika, Tippy, and Diego also excitedly announced at MYX Mo! the music channel’s first ever vlogger search for MYXph.com which will be launched soon for MYX’s 15th year. The vlogger search will scour for the newest face and online sensation who will star in MYXclusive web videos and other creative content on MYXph.com.

The newest search is part of MYX’s effort to welcome changes to stay relevant and fresh to its young viewers in the years to come. MYX is currently one of the most followed youth-oriented social media account in the country with 5.7 million likes on Facebook and a whopping 5 million followers on Twitter.



MYX is a youth-oriented music channel in the Philippines that aims to showcase music from OPM artists across all genres. It belongs to the family of cable channels under Creative Programs, Inc., a subsidiary of ABS-CBN.

2015 Chalk BYM Campus Hotties ready to influence the youth

ATENEO AND TRINITY STUDENTS HAILED AS CHALK BRIGHT YOUNG MANILA CAMPUS HOTTIES WINNERS

Ateneo student Maqui Castelo and Trinity University of Asia student Zoe Vinluan emerged as the new Chalk Bright Young Manila Campus Hotties out of the 15 finalists from colleges and universities in Metro Manila on Friday (Oct 23) at the Chalk Live Young Party.


         

   
Dubbed as the “Creative Cutie of Ateneo,” Castelo is a communications student who is into graphic design, film, and photography and looks up to famous lens men BJ Pascual and Mark Nicdao. Meanwhile, Zoe Vinluan “The Swag Queen of Trinity University of Asia,” is a medical technology student who is passionate about dancing and dreams to become a doctor.




As the newly named Chalk Bright Young Manila Campus Hotties, Castelo and Vinluan will serve as Chalk ambassadors who will grace future pages of Chalk magazine and youth-oriented events. The two were also unveiled as the inside cover personalities of Chalk’s November issue with Kiefer Ravena and Alyssa Valdez on the cover.

 “More than anything, I want to be an inspiration to all the young people that they can do something significant at a young age,” Castelo said. He added, “Chalk is just the beginning of a journey I have yet to discover as a developing artist.”

Vinluan on the other hand is ready to use her influence as a Chalk ambassador to give back to underprivileged children.


“I want to influence and inspire the youth, especially the less fortunate that there are no limitations if they want to achieve their goals. I also try to encourage children to try dancing as a hobby instead of spending time on vices,” she shared.

Aside from being Chalk ambassadors and being the inside cover personalities of Chalk’s latest issue, Castelo and Vinluan also won an all-expense paid trip with two of their friends to Boracay sponsored by Smart.



Since 2006, Chalk gathers college students who possess the caliber of conquering campus life and beyond for its Bright Young Manila search. The Bright Young Manila badge has become a status symbol among the Filipino youth and Chalk’s annual search has produced the best and brightest young talents who have made a legacy in various industries.

BREAKOUT PHILIPPINES: THE COUNTRY’S PREMIERE ESCAPE ROOM GAME PRESENTS 2 INTENSE HALLOWEEN EVENTS


Manila, October 25, 2015— Mark your calendars for November 7, 2015 and get ready for the ultimate Halloween event of the year! FOX International Channels and Victoria Court are partnering up with Breakout Philippines, the country’s premiere escape room game, to bring you an immersive horror experience like no other!

Ever since 2014, Breakout has been providing a unique experience to thousands of players by trapping them in different themed rooms for 45 minutes. They are given an interactive game where players have to team up to find clues and solve logic puzzles based on various storylines. Participants are encouraged to PLAN as a team, SOLVE puzzles collaboratively in order to ESCAPE before time expires.


This Halloween season, #VPartySeries: Midnight Mysteries changes the game as it is no longer enough to BREAKOUT… you must now also SURVIVE! You and your friends will be trapped in a room and will have 45 minutes to try and survive the horror set before you.

There will be scare actors that will enter and exit the room as they please. Some will be nice and try to help you by giving you clues, while some… are not. Be prepared as they invade your personal space, tell you bone chilling stories, separate you from your friends and sometimes, even leave you alone in the dark.

Be ready to be pushed out of your comfort zone. This is still a BREAKOUT event so there is still puzzle solving involved. You will still choose among the 5 super thematic rooms of Victoria Court Malate which will determine the style of the overall puzzle you will have to solve:
1. The Asgard Room
2. The Casino Royale Room
3. The Bat Cave Room
4. The Candy Land Room
5. The Marakkesh (Sex in the City) Room

If the scares get too extreme for you, there is a safe word… screaming “I want my mommy” will signal our actors to back off and bring you back to your friends. Though be warned, doing so will forfeit the clue you may receive by surviving the scare. 



Missing out on 1 clue won’t make it impossible to solve the puzzle, but it will make it very difficult. So wear your brown pants and as much as you can, brave up!

If that’s not enough, Breakout Philippines is also teaming up once again with FOX to bring you The Walking Dead Breakout Room. As if time pressure is not enough, you and your friends have to escape while trying to keep your wits together as a flesh-eating walker breathes down your necks.

Herbalife Health Poll: 9 in 10 Filipinos ”highly concerned” about the potential diseases that an unhealthy lifestyle can cause

MANILA, Philippines - Nine in 10 Filipino consumers surveyed by global nutrition company Herbalife are “highly concerned” about the potential diseases that an unhealthy lifestyle can cause them, with the same number believing that simple lifestyle changes can help improve their overall well-being.
A good number of the respondents expressed willingness to adopt a healthy lifestyle; 79 percent said that they would cut down on unhealthy foods, 78 percent expressed their willingness to exercise more regularly, and 72 percent said they would make better nutrition choices.
“We welcome the results of the survey. It gives an understanding of Filipinos becoming even more health concious and self-aware that they need to make some lifestyle changes to improve their overall well-being. It also gives Herbalife an idea where we are needed, because as the survey revealed only four out of 10 would spend 10 to 30 minutes a day to make simple lifestyle changes,” said Rosalio Valenzuela, Herbalife Philippines General Manager.
The respondents, however, cited the following as the top obstacles to achieving a healthy lifestyle: lack of time for exercise (75 percent), lack of time to make proper nutrition choices (64 percent), and high cost of healthy food (62 percent).
The same health poll likewise showed that the top three aging-related concerns in the country were heart, brain, and eye health.



Better knowledge and understanding
 “The findings from the Herbalife survey clearly show that the majority of people in Asia Pacific that we questioned believe in the value of good nutrition and exercise as contributing to their overall well-being. We aim to play a greater role in providing practical tips and information to people to help them understand that the journey to a healthier, more active lifestyle is not difficult to achieve. With as little as 10 minutes a day, consumers can take positive steps to improve their nutrition and be more active, which will improve their overall well-being,” said William M. Rahn, Senior Vice President and Managing Director, Herbalife Asia Pacific.
Herbalife conducted the survey in September 2015 in the lead-up to its Asia-Pacific Wellness Tour. It surveyed 1,200 respondents across six countries, including the Philippines, on perceptions towards their health and current lifestyle. Respondents from Australia, Indonesia, Malaysia, South Korea, and Thailand were likewise included in the survey.

Now on its fourth year, the Herbalife Asia-Pacific Wellness Tour aims to deepen people’s practical understanding of the various aspects of living a healthy active lifestyle. Its previous tours in the past three years saw close to 60,000 participants across the region.
This year’s Wellness Tour will feature five members of the Herbalife Nutrition Advisory Board (NAB) visiting 14 markets and 21 cities across the Asia-Pacific in the month of October. They will share their expert views on how people can make use of the little time they have to make simple lifestyle changes that will enhance their well-being.
Herbalife’s NAB experts will likewise share their views on a wide range of health-related topics, including weight management, brain health and aging; heart health; immunology; and skin care at the medical symposia being held in Australia, Cambodia, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Macau, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, and Vietnamn.
The Herbalife NAB experts participating in this year’s Wellness Tour include Dr. David Heber, who incidentally will be coming to Manila, is a leading expert in the field of nutrition and named as one of “The World’s Most Influential Scientific Minds” by Thomson Reuters in 2014 and considered one of “The Best Doctors in America”; Dr. Lou Ignarro, a Nobel laureate in Physiology or Medicine in 1998 for his discovery of nitric oxide’s health benefits; Dr. Gary Small, a specialist in brain health and aging who has authored over 500 scientific works and has received numerous awards and honors, including the “Senior Investigator Award” from the American Association for Geriatric Psychiatry; Dr. Marion Fltechner-Mors, a health nutrition specialist who is currently heading the nutrition and obesity research group at Ulm University, Germany; and Dr. Wang Jae Lee, a physician and academic specializing in immunology and a professor at Seoul National University College of Medicine.
Dr. Heber, who is the founding Director of the UCLA Center for Human Nutrition at the University of California, Los Angeles, will be conducting a symposium for free to Filipino medical practitioners on October 23, 9am, at the Manila Hotel. The symposium will gather a group of 100 doctors, nurses, physical therapists and medical practitioners. The title of the symposium is “Obesity: More Than Just Being Overweight and Nutrition Forecast for 2020.” Seminars of Dr. Heber are recognized by US hospitals as part of Continuing Education Studies, which are often required of applicants. The following day, Oct. 24, Dr. Heber will be holding seminars for thousands of Herbalife Independent Members in the same hotel.


This is the first time Dr. Heber, who is also the Chairman of the NAB and the Herbalife Nutrition Institute, to conduct a seminar in Manila since the company was founded in the Philippines 22 years ago.
